It's all in the wag ... tail way that is!
Just reading a cool article on Paul Gilligan's website at http://www.PoochCafe.com. Do you know which way a dog wags when he is happy vs. nervous? Is it right - left, right - left OR mostly to the right OR mostly to the left?

Separation Anxiety. My poodle Angel used to go NUTS whenever she was left alone. Do you know what I am talking about?
She ruined curtains, chewed up my wicker couch, trampled flowers, raided trash cans and barked incessantly. I had no clue as to what I could do to relieve her anxiety so we lived with this to 15 years.
You don't have to. The Humane Society website has excellent information on how to overcome the separation blues. Click here!

Lost Dog? Stray Dog?
How do you know ... What do you do ...
Rescuer Behaviors That Create Problems: People who find stray dogs often misinterpret the dog's behavior: they assume that the cowering, fearful dog was "abused" when in fact the dog has a xenophobic temperament and has been shy and fearful since it was a puppy, due to genetics and puppy hood experiences. Dogs found in rural areas are often assumed to be "dumped" and homeless; many rescuers never think this could be a dog that was lost .
