Fundraiser Idea for Bakesales. Thanks to Melissa Felts of SPCA Fredericksburg!

I'm always trying to find something different for fundraising ideas, and I made these picture cupcakes today, just to see if they would be bakesale worthy. I think they are! I took the photos of the animals for adoption from our website (SPCAFred.org), and printed them on white paper. Then I took the paper to the bakery dept. at Giant (the machine at Simply Sweet was not working) and they printed it for me on edible paper. When I called them, they said it was $9.99 per sheet, but when I went there, it turned out to be $6.00. Then I frosted the cupcakes, cut out the pics, peeled off the backing, and stuck them on the cupcakes. Then I simply did a quick trim around them to cover the edges of the pics. Cute, huh? I hope you all can use this idea for your fundraising efforts, too!

Fundraiser for Dogs, Cats, Horses ...

This is pretty simple. Just go to The Animal Rescue Site and click on the purple box "fund food for animals." This doesn't cost you a thing. Their corporate sponsors/advertisers use the number of daily visits to donate food to abandoned/neglected animals http://www.theanimalrescuesite.com

There are also some really cool products here ... One that caught my eye is a small plaque that reads "Heaven is where you meet all the dogs you ever loved." I am counting on that.

Help get the word out on this fundraiser! Please add their link above to your website, blog or signature and pass it on to your friends.

The Special Olympics in Delaware has a site called www.waggies.org that makes peanut butter doggie treats. They have 2 bag sizes 24 bone bag for $6.oo, and a 50 count bag for $10.oo. This does 3 things;

1) It supports Special Olympics 2) It beats the prices of every other retailer out there and 3) It makes our pups tails go wiggly wag, waggle wig.

Please pass this to all of your animal loving friends!

Just found this awesome group called Ring Dog Rescue. They protect the "bully" breeds a.k.a. "underdogs" including pit bulls, mastiffs, bulldogs, boxers and Rottweilers.

PLEASE visit their site AND start running your Internet searches through them. You can click here to go directly to their "GoodSearch.com" connection. It all adds up. From now on I'll be going through their portal.

Note: Goodsearch is a new search engine that donates about a penny a search to its designated charity, in this case, Ring Dog Rescue.

I was just reading about how Jann Arden recorded a special version of her song "Saved" to raise money for the ASPCA so I checked out the lyrics. Your turn ...

Lived a good life

Lived a sweet live

Oh, I've had the sun on my face

I had fallen to my knees and been amazed

I have walked beneath the brilliance of a perfect sky

Oh I am Saved

Saved

Lived a good life

Lived a sweet life

Oh I have a beautiful friend

I am breathless from the mercy of a smile

I am standing on the brink of the most perfect love

Oh I am Saved

Saved

I am Saved

I believe I am not going to be like I was

I have changed

I am Saved

I have bitten off the pieces that I did not want

I have torn them into tiny bits of rain

Oh the sun has dried those memories

like I knew it would

Oh I am Saved

I am Saved

I am Saved

Saved

Saved

I am Saved

Oh I am Saved

I have bitten off the pieces that I did not want

I have bitten off the pieces that I did not want

Yes, I have bitten off the pieces that I did not want

Oh, I am Oh I am Saved

I am Saved

Are you looking for someone or some animal to Love and support? Check out these wonderful support groups at GiveBackAmerica.org

American Humane Association
The mission of the American Humane Association, as a network of individuals and organizations, is to prevent cruelty, abuse, neglect, and exploitation of children and animals and to assure that their interests and well-being are fully, effectively, and humanely guaranteed by an aware and caring society.

The Haven
www.thehaven-nc.com
The Haven has become the largest and most successful no-kill animal shelter in North Carolina. Last year we found loving homes for almost 3000 abandoned pets and provided spay/neuter services for approximately 3600.

Blind Cat Rescue & Sanctuary
www.blindcatrescue.com
Blind Cat Rescue & Sanctuary was started to answer the need for a safe place for blind cats that were deemed unadoptable by regular shelters and were going to be killed just because they are blind.

The Alliance for Stray Animals and People
The Alliance for Stray Animals and people is a tax-deductible non-profit group of primarily cat rescuers in the nation\'s capitol. We help stray and abandoned animals and offer modest assistance to indigent people. We collaborate with other groups and seek to empower individual rescuers.

Check this out! www.GiveBackAmerica.org

"We believe our exciting new charity mall can help your organization raise money for your animal cause, without any cost to you and supporters.

As a proud rescue parent of a 2 year old yellow Labrador, I know first hand the need for fundraising. Our concept is simple, every time you shop online from your favorite online store (PetSmart, Target, Expedia, Amazon), a majority percentage of each commission from a purchase goes to your organization. All at no extra cost to you the consumer.

We believe our system will revolutionize the way America gives, one purchase at a time."
-Kevin DiQuattro , co- founder, GiveBackAmerica.org

Example:

Purchase a TV from Target.com:
Old: click on www.target.com -- purchase a TV for $1,000 -- Charity receives $0

New: click on www.GiveBackAmerica.org click on your charity/organization
click on www.target.com banner -- purchase the same TV for $1,000 -- charity receives $30-$50

I will be trying this out. Big thanks to Kevin for bringing this opportunity to our attention. - Viveca

Where this all began ... with my brother and his camera and dog beach.
You gotta give his blog a visit at http://www.RichStonePhoto.com

The Dog Beach Photo's are for an upcoming book to be released in the fall of 2007.

The majority of the dog photo's were taken at the world’s original 'Dog Beach' in Ocean Beach, California. The locals of Ocean Beach are very proud of their Dog Beach and take great exception when other communities claim that THEIR beach was the first to be soiled by man’s favorite pal.

Many other photo’s were taken at Dusty Rhodes Park, a.k.a., 'Look where you walk' Park. Both are wonderful places to run or walk your dog. Actually, the dogs run. Dog owners walk. Carefully.
