National Dog Bite Prevention Week

Each year, about 5 million people in the U.S., most under the age of 13, are bitten by dogs. Dog bite injuries are a leading cause of emergency admission of children to hospitals. The good news is that most bites can be prevented. NAHEE provides resources that help teachers, humane educators, and parents teach children
how to be safe around our canine companions. It works. American Humane Association. he American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) is celebrating June as Adopt A Shelter Cat Month to educate people about the wonderful cats and kittens available for adoption at shelters

6th Annual Take Your Dog to Work Day

Pet Sitters International presents "Will Work for Wags and Wages", the 5th annual Take Your Dog To Work Day. Dog lovers can participate in this event, designed to encourage pet adoptions. This day was created in hopes that dog-less co-workers will see the meaningful relationships enjoyed by their colleagues who are dog parents and will adopt pets from local animal shelters, humane societies, and rescue groups.
