What A Dog Loves is ...

making new friends at the beach,
making new friends at the park,
making new friends on the walk ...

What a Dog Loves is time to make new friends and play. Then nap. Then eat something delicious. Then do it all over again!

Sounds good to me ...

I made a new friend at the park yesterday. His name is Charlie. Charlie was the name of Candy's mate. Candy was my first dog and, another standard poodle. I was five years old when she was carried through our door.

It amazes me how I can remember the name of her mate and I can't remember things like the names of my senators, the dates of World Wars, the names of all the presidents ...

Talk about selective memories. Guess I keep track of the good stuff.
Isn't he a gorgous boy?! I love poodles ...

DogsInDanger.com - "Each year over 4 million dogs are killed."
New, in-your-face website. Posts photos and information about dogs available for adoption and their countdown to euthanasia. Yes, that is the reality of the situation.

Why are some of the reasons that so many dogs are in shelters?

Top 10 reasons dogs are dumped at shelters
Moving
Landlord not allowing pet
Too many animals in household
Cost of pet maintenance
Owner having personal problems
Inadequate facilities
No homes available for litter mates
Having no time for pet
Pet illness
Biting

You know what I think is the Number 1 Reason? Birth. We need to drop the birthrate down-down-down and bring these pups home.

Please visit www.DogsInDanger.com and give them support. Make a contribution. Forward the website to a friend. Place a post in your on-line community and in your newsletter. Adopt a dog ...

One dog at a time we can make this grim statistic old news ... the way things "used" to be.

Getting ready to fly away this weekend with Velvet. I am nervous!

Went and got her health certificate, doggy tranquilizers (can I take them too?), cargo container ...

Bought her a water bottle that is like a baby bottle and spent the evening trying to teach her how to drink from it without too much success.

Well - one day at a time ... stay tuned.
