This is an excellent website to locate specific breed rescue groups. I found it this morning hunting up a dachshund rescue organization in Virginia. I stopped my vet from taking this pup to the local shelter just in a nick of time. Really, why take a pure breed to a shelter when it will get much more support from its breed lovin' family?

Just read a fabulous book, Dog On It. This is the first novel by Spencer Quinn. Chet is a canine "Sam Spade" and the kind of dog everyone wants on their side! This was loaned to me by a friend - now I need to buy a bunch of copies to give out as gifts and one for my collection of favorite animal stories.
